Mitch joined the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) as a Midshipman in January 1998. After completion of his Bachelor of Science at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) in December 2000, Mitch trained as a Deck Officer, serving on Australian warships including HMAS BRISBANE, BENALLA, and TOBRUK. Mitch then specialised as a Maritime Geospatial Officer, serving on survey ships HMAS LEEUWIN and MELVILLE.
In August 2006 Mitch took his leave of the Navy and entered the resources sector. He joined Western Geco as a deep water marine Seismic Navigator (or Positioning Specialist), serving throughout the world on MV Geco Diamond, Magellan and Amundsen. During this time he became increasingly involved in, and developed an interest in the field of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
Mitch came ashore in April 2010 to start a family with his wife Mandy, and worked briefly with the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) while completing his Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety.
On completion of his OHS studies Mitch secured employment as the HESQ Coordinator with Pendoley Environmental Pty Ltd before moving his family to Perth. Mitch provides HESQ advice and administrative support to the Project Management team , and is currently readying our Management Systems for ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) certification.
