Ian joined the Royal Navy in 1977 and specialised in Communications, Communications security and management. After working his way up through the ranks and participating in the first Gulf War, Bosnia and Northern Ireland, he was commissioned in 1994 as a Officer and for a period of time went into mainstream Navy and ‘drove’ ships around for a couple of years. After leaving the Navy in 2000, he became a Member of the British Empire for his services in the Royal Navy and he was investitured by the Queen early 2001 at Buckingham Palace.
Ian and his family moved to Southern Ireland in 2000 and he began specialising in business management and operations and was instrumental in setting up a large call centre on behalf of Vodafone. He later became regional manager for an oil company responsible for every business and operational aspect in south east Ireland.
In 2007 he finally moved to Australia and worked as the National Operations Manager for a large transport company operating from the Barossa Valley. After 3 successful years there he decided to move to Perth and is now operating as General Manager for Pendoley responsible for bringing elements of direction, processes and efficiencies to the organisation.
Ian is a keen kayaker, enjoys sport and currently lives in the Perth hills with his family.
