Anna has 20 years of experience in marine turtle research and monitoring techniques. She has acted as Team Leader for the Gorgon project flatback turtle flipper tagging program at Barrow Island since its inception in 2004. In this role she has provided critical expertise and support in training and managing over 200 volunteers in addition to ensuring a high level of quality control over data collection and collation. Anna has also anchored DEC’s marine turtle flipper tagging program on Rosemary Island since 1989. A life-long resident of the Pilbara she has intimate and unparalleled knowledge of both the natural environment and the indigenous land owners of the region having published several oral histories of local aboriginal identities.
